DevBlog - June 2022 :)

Hi there! It's been two years since the last post on Itch because I forgot about this place :D

A lot has changed, Project Apocalypse was launched in early access, received some updates, and now is going forward to another huge update. It's quite useless to write down all the stuff that has been made and remade in-game, but today I want to share with you something cool.

I've switched from Unreal Engine's behavior tree to Logic Driver for dealing with AI. And it is incredible. I managed to move almost everything from the old system to the new one and now I can work with AI much faster. And it's way easier to implement new behavior for my survivors. I just wanted to share that news with you :-)

Over the next few weeks, I'm going to implement most of the planned AI behavior and states. It's time to teach my survivors how to use the new buildings. what to do in their free time INSTEAD of constantly drinking at the bar and how to fight efficiently. They already can drink in multiple bars, heal in the infirmary (or with bandages if available), keep their distance from the infected (kind of), and do most of the jobs around the camp without problems and bugs (yay!)

Finally, I resumed my work on the gameplay and mechanics, instead of working with 3d graphics and new buildings. I missed that part of my work and it's great to be back in action. I've redone the resources UI. Still not final, but looks way better and more straightforward than before. I've been constantly testing the game for the last two weeks and it was tough to understand which of the resources you need and what are they in general.

So, I hope some of you are still waiting for the update. And I hope it will be a good one and the game will be actually quite fun to play, with all the things I've planned for it. Stay tuned ;-)
