Today survivors died from hunger while standing next to the farm, filled with fresh food. Farm can produce resources now. But survivors can't get items from buildings yet.
Hi there! This was quite a productive week. General changes and improvements:
- Basic interaction with building. Survivors can get inside, rest inside the buildings and even get to the shooting positions outside.
- Production system, generating items and resources from other items and resources.
- Basic sound implementation. Now there are attacks, selection, interaction, death, gathering and many more sound effects.
- Explorable objects, hidden by default. Survivors can now find something (currently it's resource points) while exploring the map.
- Improved fog of war with correct post-process material (A colleague at work helped me with it and it is amazing)
- AI Director to control the infected and spawn the attack waves when needed.
- Context menu for interaction with ~most of the stuff
- Map size increased
- Infinite fixes and tweaks in the AI
- Testing, debugging, refactoring.
I always hope to finally record a gameplay video (that's like the last thing stopping me from early access preparation), but it never looks even remotely close to the game. AI Director helps, but the "camp" feeling is completely absent right now, with only 3 building types and disabled construction. But I'm pretty close to something playable, I think.
